Fun Run

Tyler and Haley participated in a school fun run today--they are raising money to install rubberized turf on the play grounds. They ran laps around a 1/16 mile track, the organizers made it a lot of fun ---there was skipping, limboing, surfing and flying involved .

Tyler Ran 35 laps which is just over 2 miles--way to go Tyler!
Looking good Haley!--She completed 26 laps.

Our Pumpkin

We've been planting a garden since we moved to Georgia. This year we grew some things that we haven't been succesful in the past. We got 3 ears of corn (which is 3 more than we've ever had before) and this pumpkin. We also grew a lot of tomatoes, squash and beans, but we've had those before so we weren't quite as excited about them.

We roasted the seeds but nobody seemed to like them.

Pinewood Derby

I posted this yesterday, but the pictures went away... so here is another try
Yesterday was our ward pinewood derby activity. The kids came up with the ideas for their cars and then we had to figure out how to make them. Alan spent hours and hours building a car for each of the kids and then I helped to paint them. We all had a good time racing the cars & everyone got a medal for participating. The activity was pretty well attended and included boiled hot dogs for all ... yum!

Ethan's car came in second in the regulation division--it's a yellow crayon

Haley grabbed the second place trophy in the heavy division--rainbow power!

Here are all the kids with their cars and their hardware

The Braves Game

Last night was Turner night at Turner Field and they decided to give us some free tickets. We ended up sitting out in Left Field which ended up being a lucky spot to sit. Before the game we had to do the mandatory "kid" things that we always do.

Run the base up by the big Coke bottle.

Go to Tooner Field.
And of course, get something to eat. Or in Tyler's case, get more than you can eat (although he managed to finish it all)

After all that, we decided to go watch the game. The game had already started by the time we got to our seats, and it wasn't long before Omar Infante hit the ball straight toward us. The ball cleared the fence and hit a seat about 10 rows in front of us.
It bounced straight to us and landed in Ethan's seat.
Alan grabbed it and handed it to him.
He held it up and managed to get himself and Dylan on TV.
Alan put captions on this so y'all can know exactly how it happened.
